So, on dec 18 my car thought it would be cool to shoot out a spark plug. Had the car towed home and it sat during the holidays till I could contact our local mustang tuner. After getting a hold of him and getting the timecert installed my car now makes it nosie (not blaming him fyi) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIXGe5fsx7A
I have looked on online and it looks a like I might be needing to replace the timing chain tensioner. woo-hoo >:( If it's going to break its all doing to do it at once. :hissyfit:

That sucks. Hopefully you get it figured out and get everything replaced so you can enjoy your Stang again! :tim:

Yep. Next Wednesday needs to hurry up, I miss driving my baby. :hissyfit:
And I talked to the tuner. He said that it might be one of the lash-adjusters acting up.

Is that better or worse than the timing chain tensioner?

Better, only have to remove the valve cover to adjust them instead of removing all of the accessories off the engine

Three month bump ;D
So, I'll do a little update. It wasn't the lash-adjusters or the timing chain tensioner. It really sounded like a rod knock. The tuner recommended to have the bottom end rebuilt. New bearings for the crank & rods. everything else passed the visual inspection. He got everything buttoned up and she ran great for about five mins and then a similar noise came back, it was very heartbreaking. He has offered to order a replacement short block and swap the heads and Acc. onto the new engine for no additional charges. I should be getting her back next week for sure.

Any update? Did the mechanic actually take the timing cover off to cross out the possibility of a tensioner or guide? My tensioner went bad and ended up breaking the upper and lower driver side guides, and took a chunk out of the keyway in the crank...I thought it was a rod knock, also, hence the reason I still lightly drove it for a week+ after the noise first came about. :X

I totally forgot this thread.... :nonono:
It was actually the same cylinder that the spark plug blew out that was causing the knocking issue. He would pull the plug on the injector and the noise would stop. He has pulled that motor in-n-out like four times:lol3: As what I said in my last post he ended up replacing the shortblock and calling a day. dropped the new motor in and she runs like a dream. :worship:
And for a added bonus I took some new pics today :tim:
